OurNakshatra (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the website ournakshatra.com and provides digital astrology guides and consultation services. We are based in India and this policy is governed by the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 (“DPDP Act”) and the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
2. Information We Collect
When you make a purchase or submit a consultation request, we collect:
- Full name and email address
- WhatsApp / phone number (if voluntarily provided for consultation bookings)
- Payment transaction reference (processed by Razorpay — we never store raw card or UPI credentials)
- IP address and browser user-agent (for security and fraud prevention)
- For consultations: date of birth, time of birth, and city of birth — provided voluntarily by you
We may use analytics tools to understand how visitors interact with our website. Such tools collect anonymised, aggregated usage data. You may opt out via your browser settings or a privacy-focused browser extension.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To deliver your purchased digital product (PDF) via email
- To send order confirmations and secure download links
- To respond to consultation inquiries via WhatsApp or email
- To detect and prevent fraud, chargebacks, and abuse
- To comply with our legal and financial record-keeping obligations
- To send occasional updates about new products — only with your consent; you may unsubscribe at any time
We process your data only for the purposes stated above. We do not use your data for automated profiling or sell it to advertisers.
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following processors:
- Razorpay — payment processing (India). Their privacy policy applies to payment data.
- Resend — transactional email delivery (your email address is shared to deliver your purchase)
- Supabase — secure encrypted database hosting for order records
All third-party processors are contractually bound to use your data only as directed by us and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.
5. Data Retention
We retain order records (name, email, purchase history, download logs) for a minimum of 3 years to comply with financial record-keeping requirements under Indian law. Birth detail data submitted for consultations is retained only for the duration of the consultation engagement and deleted upon request. You may request deletion of your personal data by contacting our Grievance Officer (see below), subject to our legal retention obligations.
6. Your Rights Under the DPDP Act, 2023
As a Data Principal under the DPDP Act, 2023, you have the right to:
- Access a summary of the personal data we process about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal data
- Request erasure of your personal data (subject to our legal retention obligations)
- Withdraw consent for processing at any time (this will not affect prior lawful processing)
- Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity
To exercise any of these rights, contact our Grievance Officer. We will respond within 15 days as mandated by law.
7. Security
We implement appropriate technical safeguards including HTTPS/TLS encryption in transit, encrypted database storage, random time-limited download tokens, and access controls on all systems. Download links are time-limited (7 days) and tied to individual order records. No system is entirely immune to breach; in the unlikely event of a data breach that affects your rights, we will notify you as required by law.
8. Cookies
We use strictly necessary cookies to ensure the checkout process functions correctly (e.g. session integrity during payment). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. If we add analytics cookies in future, we will update this policy and obtain your consent where required.
